I have been a candidate for the Greens in the south-east of Melbourne at all levels of Government constantly highlighting that Greens policies are the way forward to tackle inequality, the lack of quality and well-funded public health and education and advocating against the damaging pokie machine industry. To address climate change and the dramatic decline in our biodiversity. To establish an immigration system that is humane and fair towards people seeking asylum. For a chronology of my candidacies see here.
Over the last 12 years I have been fighting to protect the local environment in the south-east of Melbourne. Whether fighting to protect our South East Green Wedge, advocating for an environmentally sustainable development of Sandown Racecourse or against building a cemetery in the Dandenong Creek floodplain. For a chronology of what I done see here.
Between 2012 and 2020, I was a Greens Councillor for the former City of Greater Dandenong. There I initiated the national Back Your Neighbour campaign advocating for people seeking asylum in the community living in destitution due to Federal Government funding cuts. pioneered Greater Dandenong first LGBTIQA+ approach and Greater Dandenong’s first Climate Emergency Action Plan. For more of what I achieved on Council see here.
I respectfully acknowledge the Bunurong people of the Kulin nations as the Traditional Owners of this land, pay tribute to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and give respect to Elders past and present.
