I grew up in Keysborough and went to Maralinga Primary School and Chandler High School now called Keysborough College. Keysborough was working class then – most people could afford to buy a home and almost anyone could afford to rent. Now even young middle income people would struggle to buy in my street. Similarly, coming from a working class family I was able to go to university because fees were minimal so I know the barriers that high student fees are causing now.
Since then I have had a career is in project management and policy roles across State and Local Government. I also served as a local Councillor for a ward within the Isaacs electorate and continue to be an active community member in a range of community groups and committees.
I now live in Noble Park with my family. Still in Isaacs – I’m Isaacs through and through.
I respectfully acknowledge the Bunurong people of the Kulin nations as the Traditional Owners of this land, pay tribute to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and give respect to Elders past and present.
